Afterwards it's easy, inshaAllah, Allah will forgive you.
As to how you can stop thinking about them, well, I've had a MAJOR day-dreaming problem myself, and I believe the best way to end it is to 'nip the evil in the bud', don't LET such thoughts cross your mind. How? By avoiding all sorts of contact with that person, by avoiding the company of people who might give you news of them, and by lowering your gaze, of course. Don't sit alone, keep your mind busy. And do istighfar IMMEDIATELY after you realize you were daydreaming again.
This article might be of help, it emphasizes that you need to STOP.
http://www.igotitcovered.org/2010/04/06/modesty-and-shame-nouman-ali-khan-on-quran-weekly/

And remember Allah is Al-Ghafoor =)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8458157138768641619.post-92041611745304492572012-10-25T21:06:27.055-07:002012-10-25T21:06:27.055-07:00this is beautiful advice, but I want to ask a stup...this is beautiful advice, but I want to ask a stupid question. Can someone please explain how to do taubah when we like someone we shouldnt? What should we think and feel, and how should we get back to ALLAH s.w.t?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8458157138768641619.post-78747662941621185162012-10-23T20:03:52.352-07:002012-10-23T20:03:52.352-07:00AoA, Great advice. I think you sh...AoA, Great advice. I want to add:

I think you should keep praying for it (unless it's something sinful, which I'm sure it's not =p). Allah Ta'ala has this dua-filter, right, He only answers the ones that are good for us, and those too only when it's the right time.
So if Allah Ta'ala thinks it's okay for you to have that thing back, He'll give it to you. If not, then at least by making dua you would:
- Either get something good in the Hereafter
- Or be saved from a misfortune.

(On the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah (R.A.) Nabi (S.A.W.)said, “There is no believer who supplicates to Allah except that his dua is accepted, either
He is given the benefit of his dua in this world or
The benefit of his dua is kept aside for the hereafter or
His sins are forgiven in proportionate to the degree of his dua.)

It's a win-win thing, see? Keep praying with full belief that you'd get it if it's good for you-- not impossible for Allah Ta'ala =)A.S.https://www.facebook.com/sara.afzal/56noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8458157138768641619.post-89118133095389034142012-10-23T08:53:29.631-07:002012-10-23T08:53:29.631-07:00Very nice advice.
