Asalamu Aliakum, my lovely sugar sprinkled fudge brownie cupcakes :)
Who is Paradise promised to?
Since our goal should be jannah, I thought it would be a nice idea to ask you guys to post up a hadith/ verse in the Qur'an/ story of a Companion/etc. of someone promised paradise- in the comment section.
That way, InshaAllah we can all learn...
and benefit....
and be inspired....
So that, we too, can be dwellers of Paradise.
12 wonderful sprinkely thoughts:
I'll start :)
Anas Radiya Allah Anhoo once narrated that the Prophet sallah Allahoo alyhee wa salam once said: “A man from the dwellers of Paradise will walk in now” so a man from the Ansaar (i.e. residents of Madeenah) walked in whose beard was dripping from the effect of ablution and who held his slippers with his left hand. The next day the Prophet said the same thing, and the same man walked in. On the third day, the Prophet said the same thing, and the same man once again walked in.
When the Prophet left the gathering, ‘Abdullaah Ibn ‘Amr followed that man and said to him: `I had a misunderstanding with my father and swore not to stay in his house three nights, so if you permit me I would like to spend these three nights with you` The man said: `Yes, I permit you.`”
Anas added: “‘Abdullaah Ibn ‘Amr told us that he spent three nights and did not notice that the man prayed the optional night prayers during any of these nights, but if he woke up during the night, he would simply mention Allaah. Nonetheless, I never heard him utter except good things, so when the three nights finished, I almost belittled his deeds (as they were insignificant) and I said to him: `O slave of Allaah! There was not dispute between me and my father or anger, but I heard the Prophet saying thrice: “A man from the dwellers of Paradise will walk in now” and you walked in all three times, so I wanted to sleep in your place to see what you do in order to imitate you, but I did not see that you exert extra effort in performing any extra deeds. How did you reach such status to deserve what the Prophet said about you?` He replied: `My deeds are nothing more than what you saw` Then when I left, he called me back in and said: `My deeds are nothing more than what you saw, but the only thing I do is that I do not hold any grudge against any Muslim or envy anyone for what bounties Allaah has granted them` ; thereupon ‘Abdullaah Ibn ‘Amr said to him: “This difficult quality to obtain is what granted you this rank”. [Ahmad]
Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
A Bedouin came to Allah's Messenger (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) and said:
"Messenger of Allah, (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) direct me to a deed by which I may be entitled to enter Paradise."
Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) remarked:
"You worship Allah and never associate anything with Him, perform the obligatory Prayer, and
pay the prescribed Zakah, and observe the fast of Ramadan."
He (the Bedouin) said: "By Him in Whose Hand is my life, I will never add anything to it,
nor will I decrease anything from it."
When he (the Bedouin) turned his back, the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said:
"He who is pleased to see a man from the dwellers of Paradise should catch a glance at this man."
[Bukhari]
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "I saw a man going about in Jannah (and enjoying himself) as a reward for cutting from the middle of the road, a tree which was causing inconvenience to the Muslims".
[Muslim].
Another narration says: "A man who passed by a branch of a tree leaning over a road and decided to remove it, saying to himself, `By Allah! I will remove from the way of Muslims so that it would not harm them.' On account of this he was admitted to Jannah".
O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter.
surah (9:38)
"Whoever has three daughters or sisters, or two daughters or two sisters, and lives along with them in a good manner, and has patience with them, and fears Allah with regard to them will enter Paradise." (Reported by Abu Dawud, Al-Tirmidhee and others)
And in another Hadith: "They will be a shield for him from the Fire." (Reported by Ahmad and Ibn Maajah)
Narrated AbuSa'id al-Khudri: The Prophet (sal Allahu alihi wasallam) said: If anyone cares for three daughters, disciplines them, marries them, and does good to them, he will go to Paradise. (Sunan Abu Dawud) (Book #41, Hadith #5128)
Umm Salamah (RA) reported: Messenger of Allah (SAW) said,
“Any woman dies while her husband is pleased with her, she will enter Jannah”. [At-Tirmidhi].
Abu Hurayra said, "The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was asked, 'Messenger of Allah! A certain woman prays in the night, fasts in the day, acts and gives sadaqa, but injures her neighbours with her tongue.' The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'There is no good in her. She is one of the people of the Fire.' They said, 'Another woman prays the prescribed prayers and gives bits of curd as sadaqa and does not injure anyone.' The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'She is one of the people of the Garden. '"
O people, spread the salaam (greetings), feed the hungry, and pray while the people are asleep, you will enter Jannah in peace.
[Tirmidhi]

These are the ones who DESIRED Jannah.
He, who wishes to enter paradise at the best gate, must please his father and mother. (Bukhari & Muslim)
ma'shaAllah, sisters. Keep them coming <3
" The Three Dates " A’ishah ( May Allah be pleased with her) , the Blessed Prophet’s (peace_be_upon_him) wife, was a very hospitable person. She loved to entertain guests, and spend happy hours chatting to them. Once a woman came to visit ‘A’ishah ( May Allah be pleased with her) , bringing her two daughters with her. ‘A’ishah ( May Allah be pleased with her) received her, smiling and welcoming and very soon the two women were deep in conversation. However, ‘A’ishah ( May Allah be pleased with her) was faced with a certain difficulty.. At that time, things were very hard in Medina. Often the people went hungry, and in the Prophet’s ( May Allah be pleased with her) , house , no fire was made for days and food was scarce, even dates were short in supply. ‘A’ishah ( May Allah be pleased with her) decided to search the house thoroughly in order to find something to offer her guest. The room in which she had welcomed her guest was so small that when ‘A’ishah ( May Allah be pleased with her) stood up, her head almost touched the ceiling. It did not take ‘A’ishah RA very long to search it, and she quickly realized that she did not have much to offer. Eventually she managed to find three dates. ‘A’ishah ( May Allah be pleased with her) gave them to her guest who looked at her gratefully. The woman gave one date to each of her daughters. They were very hungry and had not eaten for several days. The mother kept one date for herself, but she did not eat it and held it in her hand as she talked to ‘A’ishah ( May Allah be pleased with her) . After the two little girls had gobbled up their dates, they began to eye the last one that was held in their mother’s hand. Their mother saw them out of the corner of her eye and smiled. She divided the last date into two pieces and gave half to each of the girls. ‘A’ishah ( May Allah be pleased with her) was very moved by the great love and self-sacrifice shown by this mother, and as soon as the Blessed Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) came home, she told him what had happened. “Indeed”, the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said. “The woman has entered Paradise because of the love and kindness she showed to her little daughters. Allah will show her mercy because she showed mercy to them.” Source: "Glimpses From the Lives of the Sahaba and Tabi'een, 'A'ishah, Mother of the Believers.
